Milk River Chapter

Milk River Chapter was organized September 25, 1956, at Glasgow, by Organizing Regent, Vivian Torkelson. The name came from Lewis and Clark's commenting that "the water possesses a peculiar whiteness, being about the coulour of a cup of tea with the mixture of a tablespoonful of milk."

Once a lively cow town, Glasgow owes its existence to the Milk River Project. This chapter covers several counties and members travel over 175 miles to attend meetings.

Two State Regents came from this chapter. This chapter also sponsored Joy Linn as Montana's Outstanding Junior. She went on to be named the Northwestern Division winner as well as National Runner-up. Miss Linn served as Vice President General 2002-2005.
